CONNECTION GROUPS

We believe that connection groups are the place where sustained life change occurs. Connection groups are where real life and real issues are discussed. This is the environment where we celebrate the successes and good times of life, as well as comfort one another during the tough and disappointing times. It is a place to be encouraged, equipped and challenged to become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ. We want to help people connect relationally in groups that produce spiritual transformation, authentic community and loving service to our church and our world.

Get connected in a class or group for discipleship, men, women, young adults, single adults, senior adults, sermon discussion, book/Bible study, couples or support/recovery.

We have great connections happening in our connect groups. Just read the note below sent to Pastor Steve:

I don’t know how very exciting our story is in the way of incredible answers to prayer or epiphanies gained from study, but nonetheless, for us it has been a dawning of understanding.

Our small group, was left “adrift” when the leaders followed the call to assist with their son's church start-up They had done an outstanding job of building community and facilitating our small group as well as providing a location for meeting. It left a huge “hole” in Jerry and my personal fellowship with believers. Sundays did not provide the close experience of the home churches of the book of Acts. Small break-off groups had been my grounding in phenomenal spiritual growth. From such small groups had sprung “faith stories,” service, and genuine concern for one another!  What were we to do?  Just sit at home and wait to see if someone else would act?

After praying and lamenting, I decided to call our former small group members. Even though we felt inadequate: we had not led a group before, we could not lay our fingers on every remedy to life’s problems in the Bible, and even worse, we were a couple with problematic and fragmented lives just like everyone else, not stellar examples in every way!

I decided to “brave it” and first attended a Saturday course you taught. I still felt the pull to do this small group, and I actually felt that if I overcame my fear, He would fill in the pieces. To our delighted amazement, a few faithful and encouraging folk came to our home for the five-week discussion from the small group with a new member couple, as well. Who would lead? I fumbled; Jerry interjected; our dear group members stayed the course!

Each one of us made the small group “go,” and I realized the importance of “each one!” Sometimes having “less than” provides “more,” and the hidden parts in our personalities rise to the occasion; and the uniqueness of each of our faith stories unveils  in the presence of “just enough.” So, now it is time to make the calls, set-the-table, draw-up the chairs for the next sermon series, discussion group or Bible study. “Yes, we can!” Praise be to the Lord of all, and most assuredly, the “small!”

Thanks for the opportunity to share my heart!
Jan
